It is impossible to completely eliminate dust in your home. But it is important to not let it accumulate. Not only does dust look ugly on furniture, but it also can impact the health of your family, humans and pets.

Keep your home free of clutter. When items accumulate, it is harder to clean, and dust builds up. Wash or change your sheets on the bed weekly. And bathe your pets regularly, especially if they go outside. Getting an air purifier can help reduce dust.

Remove dust from high to low. Dust doorways, picture frames, and ceiling fixtures. Then dust your furniture, followed by baseboards. Vacuum upholstered furniture and floors. To remove leftover dust, mop any hard floor surfaces.

Use the right tools. Use dusters that grab the dust and not just move it from one place to another. Many people like microfiber dusters and cloths to remove dust. Be sure to clean your cloths. If using microfibers, you can wash them, and then dry them either on low or no heat. Keep your vacuum clean, and empty its canister or replace its bag regularly.
